The sound you're listening to is Alter Bridge singer, Myles Kennedy
reading my poem, "Alter Bridge" at the concert at the Coca-Cola Roxy Theatre in Atlanta, GA on October
16, 2004. I was literally floating when my absolute favorite band, Alter Bridge, Mark Tremonti, on guitar, Scott Phillips
on drums and Brian Marshall on bass set music to the background as Myles read the poem so beautifully. Meeting the guys from
Alter Bridge after the show was even more amazing.
Alter Bridge
by Tisha Emberton Shining, surrounding cool sounds. Silver light rising to sprinkle fame, Upon the brow of his hand. Riddling
the flame of golden riffs. No stopping this swift, Ground breaking, wall shaking
guitar. Knee bent, foot taking control atop the amp. All elements kick loose
from the sparks. Trademark of Tremonti, Live at the Roxy. Here we are to rock
with you! Drumrise, foundation of "Flip". Drums call his name behind Alter Bridge. Scott Phillips aboards this ship. No breath of silence as he grips the handle, Of the rising and falling of this thunderous candle. Drumsticks roll across the tide, Of everything divided--So that we are one, Gathered here to witness, The
celebration of music. Brian Marshall brings the bass, Volume and collective
rhythm, loud adventurous. Atop the stem stands Kennedy, The voice of Alter
Bridge. How beautiful, the flight of his melody. Myles, the stimulation of
unity, Lyrics co-written with Mark Tremonti. Sounds of Alter Bridge, Hearts beating, domino to the effect, Gaining respect for moments just like this. Altering the air of division. Giving us another reason to live, Alter
Bridge.
